Plakias is 114 km from Heraklion Airport and 97 km from Chania Airport, so a private taxi transfer is a good option for airport transfers. The fare is about €120, and the trip takes about 100 min. A cheaper but more time-consuming option is to take the bus to Rethymnon, and there change for a bus to Plakias. In bad weather, the trip can take up to half a day.
